Troubleshooting
If you cannot open a file:
- Try again after a few minutes.
Servers can become overloaded.
- Check that the URL was entered correctly.
- If you are using a proxy server, check that it is configured correctly.
- If other TCP/IP
applications, such as e-mail and FTP, are not working, there may be a problem
with your network connection.
- Replace the domain name in the URL with the
IP address of the server. If this works, your DNS (domain name system) server
may be broken.
- If you are using a modem, check that the baud rate is set
to the manufacturer's specification.
To display server messages:
- From the
Edit menu, choose Preferences.
- Choose the Miscellaneous panel, if
necessary.
- Select the Show Server Messages option.
Messages from servers often provide more detailed information than error
messages from Mosaic. Server messages are displayed in the current document
window, not in a dialog box.
- Choose the OK button.
To display technical information about your system:
- From
the Apple menu, choose About Enhanced Mosaic.
- Choose
the Support button.
To save the information displayed, choose the Save
button.
